OUR STORY

This property is our second home so it is much nicer than a typical 'rental'. We spend a lot of time at Deep Creek Retreat with our four children. You will see lots of personal things throughout the house with each of our kids 'claiming' one of the bedrooms as their own and with lots of enlarged photos that I have taken from our travels around the world (India, Nepal, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Colorado skiing, Canadian Rockies etc). We want to make our guests feel very much at home while staying with us. I want you to feel like you're my sister and I just tossed you the keys for our home for your own little weekend get-a-way. Our cove is very private, as it is somewhat shallow. There is a huge advantage to this as there is no fast boat traffic, only the occasional bass-boat. Our kids enjoy swimming off of the dock and crossing to the other side of the cove and play in the grassy area. Kayaking up the cove and into the creek is one of our favorite things to do at the end of our boating day. We usually take turns in the three person (2 adults, 1 kid) kayak. Keep the noise down and you may see lots of wildlife. We enjoy going out at 9 am on the boat, returning about 3 or 4 pm. Then we chill on the boat, enjoying a cocktail or beer while the kids play in the water, lay on the tube or kayak in the cove and creek. We have a large outdoor fire pit that is great for enjoying some family time. You have a nice view of the lake from the fire pit and can watch the glow of the evening sky above the house as the sun sets in the west. I built a stone wall with PA stone which makes for a very nice backdrop to the fire pit. We provide a limited amount of wood for your fire.
